Welcome to the U.S. Space & Rocket Center Education Foundation's Space Camp scholarship application!

To begin your application, click the 'Sign Up' button on top right corner of this page under the heading 'Need An Account?' (For those of you who have registered for camp before, this is separate from the account used to register for camps)
Please use one of the following browsers when working on your application: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Internet Explorer 9 or greater.

Space Camp Scholarship applications will open September 15, 2018. Applications will be due by 11:59 p.m. CST, November 5, 2018.

What to expect:
All applicants will be notified via email by 6 p.m., CST, February 4, 2019. Please check your spam folders if you do not receive an email by this time. If the first email does not go through, you will receive a follow up email from anitah@spacecamp.com.

Applicants may apply in one of four categories - Financial Need, Special Needs, Academic Achievement or Leadership. Each applicant must answer two essay questions, design and describe a mission patch, describe a science project using the scientific method or engineering design process and provide two letters or recommendation.

Please note: If you are applying in response to a specific scholarship for your region, please check the appropriate box for regional scholarships in the application form. These are:
  • Seattle Space Gals scholarship for girls from the Pacific Northwest
  • KASPER (Knox Area Space Program Education Resources) scholarship for Knox County Tennessee residents (priority is given to applicants with financial need)
  • Delta Autumn Space Adventure scholarship for children ages 9-11 (grades 4-6) from Oxford, MS
Application Instructions:
Once you have created an account and logged in, begin your application by clicking on "Space Camp Application" under your task bar. You may save and return to the application as necessary. When you have completed the application and uploaded all required files, please return to your task bar and click "Submit Application."

For Alabama residents:
Space Academy for Leading Students in Alabama (SALSA) 2018-2019

Please note: SALSA information and the 2019 application will be posted in November 2018.

If you have applied for SALSA scholarship in previous years, you may use the username and password you created when first submitting an application.

Please be aware that you may see a form that looks like the application form. This is not the correct form - it is a glitch in the software set-up. To reach the correct form, follow the instructions below:


You MUST select SALSA from the Scholarship Program menu, and click Get Started to move into a submittable online application.  After clicking the Get Started button, you will see:

SALSA Application 18-19(form)
Upload your transcript or Recent Report Card (File Upload task)
Submit S.A.L.S.A. Application (submit task)

The 2018-2019 SALSA applications will open in November 2018. If you are a student in Alabama between the ages of 12-14, sign in and select the SALSA option from the dropdown menu to begin your scholarship application.

Applicants will be notified as soon as possible in 2019 - this depends upon the time it takes for the legislators to make their choices. Please refrain from making calls or emails regarding your application status.  For more information, visit http://www.spacecamp.com/salsa

Alabama Space Academy for Educators (ALSAE) 2018-2019

To begin your application, click the 'Sign Up' button on the top right corner of this page under the heading 'Need An Account?'
Please use one of the following browsers when working on your application: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Internet Explorer 9 or greater.

The 2018-2019 ALSAE applications are will be posted in November 2018. If you are a full time educator in a public school system in the state of Alabama, you are eligible.  Please follow the instructions above and select the ALSAE option from the dropdown menu to begin your scholarship application. Once posted, ALSAE applications will close when spaces are filled. Please submit your application as soon as possible.

Application Instructions:
Once you have created an account and logged in, begin your application by clicking on "ALSAE Application" under your task bar. You may save and return to application as necessary. When you have completed the application and uploaded all required files, please return to your task bar and click "Submit Application." After your application has been submitted changes or additions will not be accepted.


 Please do not wait until the deadline to submit your application since the award process for ALSAE is ongoing.
