Welcome to the U.S. Space & Rocket Center Education Foundation's Space Camp scholarship application!

The deadline for the 2020 Space Camp scholarship application for U.S. and international students ages 9-18 has passed. The 2021 Space Camp scholarship application will open September 1, 2020. 

All applicants will be notified of their status via email by 6 p.m., CST, February 7, 2020. Please check your spam or junk e-mail folders if you do not receive an email by this time. Please do not email questions regarding your status prior to February 8, 2020. You should receive a response to your email in the next few business days.

For Alabama residents:
Space Academy for Leading Students in Alabama (SALSA) 2019-2020

 SALSA  2020 application will open November 7, 2019.


To begin your application, click the 'Sign Up' button on the top right corner of this page under the heading 'Need An Account?'
If you have applied for SALSA scholarship in previous years, you may use the username and password you created when first submitting an application.

Please be aware that you may see a form that looks like the application form. This is not the correct form - it is a glitch in the software set-up. To reach the correct form, follow the instructions below:


You MUST select SALSA from the Scholarship Program menu, and click Get Started to move into a submittable online application.  After clicking the Get Started button, you will see:

SALSA Application 2020 (form)
Upload your transcript or Recent Report Card (File Upload task)
Submit S.A.L.S.A. Application (submit task)


Please use one of the following browsers when working on your application: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Internet Explorer 9 or greater.

The 2020 SALSA applications will open November 7, 2019. If you are a student in Alabama between the ages of 12-14, sign in and select the SALSA option from the dropdown menu to begin your scholarship application.

Applicants will be notified in March 2020 - this depends upon the time it takes for the legislators to make their choices. Please refrain from making calls or emails regarding your application status.  For more information, visit http://www.spacecamp.com/salsa

Alabama Space Academy for Educators (ALSAE) 2020

To begin your application, click the 'Sign Up' button on the top right corner of this page under the heading 'Need An Account?'
Please use one of the following browsers when working on your application: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Internet Explorer 9 or greater.

The 2020 ALSAE application is now open.
If you are a full time educator in a public school system in the state of Alabama, you are eligible.  Please follow the instructions above and select the ALSAE option from the dropdown menu to begin your scholarship application. Once posted, ALSAE applications will close when spaces are filled. Please submit your application as soon as possible.

Application Instructions:
Once you have created an account and logged in, begin your application by clicking on "ALSAE Application" under your task bar. You may save and return to application as necessary. When you have completed the application and uploaded all required files, please return to your task bar and click "Submit Application." After your application has been submitted changes or additions will not be accepted.


Please do not wait until the deadline to submit your application since the award process for ALSAE is ongoing.

2020 Session Dates: (including arrival and departure days)
June 3- June 9
June 24- June 30


Educators will earn up to 45 Hours of continuing education credit and have access to lesson plans, classroom materials upon completion of program.

The 2021 Space Camp scholarship application for U.S. and international applicants ages 9-18 will be posted on September 1, 2020.

What to expect:
Applicants may apply in one of four categories - Financial Need, Special Needs, Academic Achievement or Leadership. Each applicant must answer two essay questions, design and describe a mission patch, describe a science project using the scientific method or engineering design process and provide two letters or recommendation.

Please note: If you are applying in response to a specific scholarship for your region, please check the appropriate box for regional scholarships in the application form. There is one at this time:
  • KASPER (Knox Area Space Program Education Resources) scholarship for Knox County Tennessee residents (priority is given to applicants with financial need)
Application Instructions:
Once you have created an account and logged in, begin your application by clicking on "Space Camp Application" under your task bar. You may save and return to the application as necessary. If you have trouble logging in, please contact support@fluidreview.com. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed. Please check your application for completeness before submitting. Also, make sure files are uploaded so that they may be read right side up. If you are having trouble with an upload, please email anitah@spacecamp.com before the deadline. 

When you have completed the application and uploaded all required files in the proper format (.pdf, .jpeg or .jpg), please return to your task bar and click "Submit Application." Submission is a 2-step process. After you click submit, you will see a message that you will not longer be able to make changes after submitting. You MUST click your response in order to complete your submission. Once you have successfully submitted your application, you should receive an automatic confirmation email.
